we not helpless. Using education, skills training cutting-edge technologies we can recover. From the pandemic to climate change to all 17 UN SDGs, empowering local communities, funding the smallest to achieve the greatest. but in all things SHARE. And do it by consensus...TURING SCHEME: email ramoorcroft@gmail.com
Schools, colleges, universities are the seed beds for innovation and bright ideas. The work that is being done for practical solutions such as improvised PPE, testing, antidotes was phenomenal while they also worry about future funding and mental health of their students. This generation had never before experienced the threats to our society: our security, well-being and happiness we faced. As adults we HAVE to offer hope, optimism and a path to recovery rather than just reassurance things will work out well, Being older doesn't mean we are automatically wiser. There is so much we can learn from each other. That is why Zedgeneration recruits Young Ambassadors to use social media and word of mouth to spread information and opportunities.
Coming soon - we are lobbying for support to roll out our mission and will post here. Success comes only if there is a willingness to put rivalry and self interest aside. Zedgeneration looks to build partnerships across sectors to achieve national success - the challenge is who will step up and serve, as we are?
In this time of unprecedented threat we ask for support as we speak for many who do not have a voice.

In this year the UK holds the Presidency of the COP26 world action against climate change. 200 world leaders were to have met in Glasgow see comments from President Alok Sharma https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cop26-president-closing-remarks-at-petersberg-climate-dialogue . Zedgeneration is unique - a bridge between young and old, developed and developing nations, exciting global collaboration between science, knowledge, faith leaders, powermakers and communities.
Rani was a British civil servant in education, employment, skills departments, first Chair of a staff Race Group, CSR manager, and PA to Baroness Newlove, champion for safe, active communities. Rani was UK Country Champion for Education and Skills for Sri Lanka. Working to rebuild lives and the education system after the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, she initiated climate change, sustainable actions. Today, Sri Lanka is the first country in the world recognised by the UN for mangrove tree replanting. Coastline 'plantations' can replace threatened rain forests for carbon capture, and mitigate against the worst damage from climate change. Mangroves may even hold an antidote to the virus. Zedgeneration is a collective of successful professional seniors empowering the next generation by passing on our experience and know how. All of us have worked for many years in global areas of sustainable eco projects and renewable energy, community cohesion, social housing, youth crime, reoffending, and race and gender inequality. What unites us is a passion to make a difference, and a track record at award-winning delivery. We bridge gaps in society by finding simple solutions to complex problems. We are not a commercial entity maximising profits for ourselves: our shareholders are the people. We address climate change, the lack of affordable housing, skilled workers and apprenticeships; insufficient care for seniors; youth and community hubs to support all ages; over 8 million inactive citizens. Profits from our commercial activity will fund our work fixing these, and more. We add social value to every bid for finance.. Zedgeneration offers leadership, purpose and blueprints for local activists. All we want is a fast rollout so that communities everywhere can take control.

Audley English, a ‘Windrush Child’ and the UK’s first West Indian architect was employed as a draftsman for George Wimpey, the largest housing contractor. After qualifying, Audley set up the first black-led architectural practice ‘AEA Architects’. His drawing was exhibited in the Royal Academy’s 1986 Summer Exhibition. A Founder member of the Society of Black Architects (SOBA) and of Zedgeneration,
Audley’s recent awards include the Sunday Times Best Homes Award 2017 for his modular eco-intergenerational village delivering one million new homes. He was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Best Homes Award 2019 for his modular ‘Elastic House’, designed for multi-generational living.
Previous pioneering projects:
AEA worked with a Self-Build Caribbean Co-op Housing Group using the Walter Segal system (Audley’s former tutor);
AEA designed the first certified ‘BREEAM EXCELLENT ‘housing scheme with annual running costs of £170. The first architectural published scheme to use the term ‘Modular building’ was attributed to an AEA housing project in 2000.
AEA was the first practice to design a social housing grass roof scheme in London. Currently on site is a council project constructed using a standardised MMC kit-of-parts. Components were delivered to site in the back of a white van and assembled using semi-skilled apprentices and women.

CEO Daniel Pillai was Director of The Sustainable Building Envelope Centre (SBEC) for Tata Steel between 2010 and 2015. This centre of excellence was a joint venture between Tata Steel, Low Carbon Research Institute (LCRI) and Welsh Assembly Government aimed at accelerating the development of low and zero carbon solutions.
In only five years BIPVco is gaining international status thanks to winning
Solar Technology AND Clean Tech Start Up of the year in the Business Green Technology Awards 2016.
Clocking up other memorable UK milestones and first developments are
Active Class room and Active office , both energy- positive buildings on the Swansea Bay University Campus. These used off-site manufacturing, innovative energy generation, storage and release technologies.,
Active Homes,Neath are sixteen new build innovative homes set to become the first development of social housing to use these products to reduce carbon emissions and fuel poverty.
Turning buildings into power stations: retrofitting older buildings
Half of all energy consumed is within buildings. Generating and consuming energy and sharing any excess within the neighbourhood is the most efficient way to secure affordable and renewable energy.
BIPVCo turns buildings into functional power stations while not making them look like power plants by imbedding solar power generating capability into the very fabric / products that make up contemporary building envelope. This is combined with active management of the energy use, local storage and sharing excess with grid.

This most cruel of enemies denies us human touch, affection, segregates old from young and targets the elderly and vulnerable with deadly precision. Our Queen, as head of the Commonwealth family, lead the nations grateful thanks to everyone working tirelessly to defeat this killer keeping essential services going, the nation fed, safe and healthy.
Key workers are suffering or dying: NHS, medics, bus drivers, refuse collectors, delivery people, carers in the firing line for us. Community volunteers help the isolated, frightened, aged and vulnerable. Anyone and everyone contributing skills, materials, time, ideas. We salute this People’s Army who prove that the Big Society cynics scoff never was is very much alive. And this country magnificent as always is truly All in this together.
This war will wreak havoc, the casualties, the ruinous expense to save lives, jobs and industry. Civilian casualties in WW1 &2 came to a combined 70,000. We may exceed this before the virus is done with us. It has already stolen months of our young people's education with schools, colleges and universities shut.
Unless we adapt swiftly to this new world order our country will take generations to recover. We have to tackle climate change, build 1 million fit-for-purpose homes, train a new workforce sadly now available, as companies go under in tourism, retail and hospitality. Last year we celebrated the famous Addison Act - post WW1 the then Minister for Health galvanised a nation to build, build, build Homes fit for Heroes. 500,000 new homes needed from the ruins of war and the troops' return.
THIS IS OUR OFFER:
We will train an on-line workforce of all ages, wherever they are to build our 'kit, plug and play' houses, renovate older buildings, use sustainable energy producing products and fast, better construction. We can turbo boost the economy as soon as we set free.
Give us sites with planning permission ready to go for our community .
The country still needs 1 million homes. The nation clamours that our wonderful 'key workers' are first to get keys for beautiful, affordable homes!
We did it 100 years ago - we can do it again, together.
UPDATE: We launched Mums Army in Basildon; feeding the front line NHS to support local volunteers http://mumsarmy-basildon.simplesite.com/
21 January 2021 Mums army joined forces with Basildon Sports and social club to form Basildon Buddies. Zedgeneration’s first official educational partner Harlow College (HC) is the first FE College in the UK to be awarded Apple Distinguished School status. There are only 470 in 34 countries worldwide explains Apple: ‘(they) are centres of leadership and educational excellence that demonstrate Apple’s vision for learning with technology, we believe they are some of the most innovative schools in the world'. Every student can also take part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) to be better citizens.
HC is at the centre of the London‐ Stansted‐Cambridge Innovation Corridor and perfectly suited to offer students opportunities to build the Harlow/Gilston new town. Zedgeneration is actively helping in the search for funding, and delivering several joint projects including the key worker accommodation (see Build eco) next to the state-of –the-art HAMEC engineering centre. This is equipped with the latest manufacturing equipment and machinery. Stansted Airport College, opened in 2018 is the first of its kind in the country and located alongside the main runway. HC hopes to extend this, and upgrade older buildings on the main campus HC is one of only 26 national construction hubs sharing £22m to establish live construction sites to train up thousands of workers and help tackle skills shortages in the construction industry. Public England’s New outreach lab is on campus and during the current Pandemic training former NHS staff returning to the frontline.
Zedgeneration is better for recruiting Nishall Garala, a former HC student and Young Ambassador to be our Youth advisor

The pandemic has shone an unforgiving spotlight on the ageing care crisis with the toll on casualties, care workers and seniors. Others 'shielded' at home for months and months are away from beloved families. An emotional toll hard for all, but particulalry traumatic on those with a short life expectancy. We can't set aside the care crisis as failing to plan will surely be planning to fail!
UK reports that over a million older people went for a month without seeing or speaking to friends or family pre Covid-19’s lock down. The figure will have soared since then. Loneliness and isolation is a lethal combination. The Centre for Ageing Better, www.ageing-better.org.uk is a charity that wants everyone to enjoy a good later life. It asks ‘are we society ready for ageing? What are the biggest challenges and solutions to help us live better lives for longer? Audley English and Rani Moorcroft will appear on a video on their website with their answers. Zedgeneration founders are all over 60, and carers ourselves, so speak from personal experience. An overburdened NHS carries the brunt of social care as family move away and the ‘village’ that traditionally cared for its own, disperses. The housing crisis in the UK is exacerbated by seniors struggling to stay in over-large, expensive-to-run family homes fearing crippling care fees will gobble up their family inheritance. Young families cannot move upwards because of this bottleneck.
Zedgeneration’s solution is that local authorities build specialist social housing to cover all the ages of care; independent living, 24/7 and critical end-of-life care. Within that housing 'estate' build a medical care 'hub'. Seniors move into these happy, communities and ‘lend’ their homes to councils to rent out, offsetting that against care fees. When the owner passes away, the property returns to family ownership. We say all new developments MUST make provisions for the elderly – at least 25% set aside as compulsory for purpose built housing. HomesEngland’s grant fund for affordable homes indicates that a paltry 4% went towards senior housing, despite over 1 in 4 of us are over 55. Our blueprint for UK’s first eco retirement village is packed with best practice and Artificial Intelligence to let us live in our community safely and happily for as long as possible. The onsite medical hub treating age-related illnesses such as cancer, dementia will save GP time, hospital admittance and long term stays. Prevention before cure is best. We applaud the great work done in Abbeyfield care homes Basildon, and Michael Dunne especially for shaping our views.

Zedgeneration wants to support the amazing charity UK Homes fit for Heroes; caring and feeding 90 homeless veterans in the City of London. They could do with accessing some of the money given to local authorities to get people off the street by housing them in hotels.
When the pandemic is subdued we hope to work with them.
Please visit www.ukh4h.org.uk/ and offer help to Jimmy now. Mayor of London and GLA members; we are in the top 10 richest countries in the world. How can we let our war heroes go cold and hungry in our capitol city? Please respond to this so we can post a good news update very soon.
